» » International Travel
IAH is the nation's 7th largest international passenger gateway. In 2004, more than six (6) million international passengers passed through its gates.
International travelers are serviced by three facilities. Terminal D services passengers departing Houston on foreign flag carriers. Terminal E services international passengers flying on Continental Airlines. For inbound international travelers, Terminal E , which opened in January 2005, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to streamline the customs, immigration and baggage process for visitors coming to Houston.
At Bush Intercontinental Airport, we know there is no place like home, but we hope that international travelers and visitors find our facilities and our entire airport pleasant, and that our warm Texas hospitality makes them feel welcome. |

Passengers departing from Houston on international flights will use either Terminal D or Terminal E depending on the carrier they are flying.

- » Terminal D - all other international flights. For more information on Terminal D airlines go to our airlines page.
Passengers traveling into Houston on international flights will arrive at gates in either Terminal D or Terminal E. They will disembark and make their way through secure corridors and across the sky bridges to the adjoining Federal Inspection Services (FIS) . Here they will claim baggage and clear U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
For those passengers continuing on a domestic flight from Houston, there are recheck counters that will help speed them and their baggage on to their final destination. Airline locations can be found on our airlines page and our terminal layout .
For those passengers ending their journey in Houston, they can be met in the Meeter/Greeter Lobby located on the first floor of Terminal E. Ground transportation will be accessible from this location also.
The in-transit lounge in located in Terminal D provides comfortable accommodations for passengers awaiting continuation of international flights. The lounge has a seating capacity for 200 persons and offers these transiting passengers beverage and food service, duty free shopping, and the opportunity to relax prior to their flight's continuation.
Passengers can negotiate the currencies of 74 foreign countries between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. These hours include all scheduled international flights to and from Houston.
