Houston Friendly is an innovative approach to elevating customer service throughout the airport environment by incorporating virtually all airport organizations.
The focal point for emphasizing the importance of a friendly approach to all airport patrons is through training. All airport employees and service providers are trained to promote a high standard of friendly customer service.
To emphasize the value that participating organizations place on superior customer service, a series of quarterly reward and recognition ceremonies are scheduled to praise and reward employees who go the extra mile in delivering a pleasant airport experience to our travelers. These festive occasions take place in airport terminals, and feature music, refreshments, and often dynamic motivational speakers.
Employees can be nominated by passengers for awards, through the website (Click Here); by filling out comment cards located through out the airports; or they can be nominated by co-workers or management.
Houston is recognized for its warm and friendly welcome to visitors and new residents. The Houston Friendly program extends that tradition to the millions of passengers that travel through our airports.
Upcoming Houston Friendly Reward & Recognition Ceremonies
Simultaneous Houston Friendly Reward & Recognition Ceremonies are scheduled for IAH and HOU on Friday, March 2 at 10:00 a.m.
The IAH ceremony will take place in the Terminal A ticketing lobby, with singer Jonathan Turnbow slated to perform a country western set, and Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo representative David Cone delivering keynote remarks.
At HOU the ceremony in the main ticketing lobby will feature the music of Wendell Brooks & Company, with a selection of original music and country western tunes.
Airport employees and the public are invited to attend.
Houston Friendly Reward & Recognition Ceremony
The 1st Houston Friendly Reward & Recognition Ceremony for all airport employees was held on May 23, 2006.
